ANIMEE - Portuguese Association of Companies in the Electrical and Electronic Sector, is a national employers' association aiming to support and represent  industrial and commercial activity of companies in the wide scope of the electric and electronic Sector.

ANIMEE, which succeeds the former Grémio dos Industriais de Material Elétrico, has more than fifty years of existence dedicated to serving, defending and promoting the interests of its members.

ANIMEE currently represents the main companies in this sector of activity, which employ around 29,000 workers and exported around 6 273 million Euros in 2024.

These companies are distributed throughout the country, prevailing in greater Lisbon, North and Center and are grouped, within ANIMEE, according to the following subsectors:

- Telecommunications, information technology and professional electronics

- Electronic components

- Light installation equipment

- Measurement, control and automation equipment and systems

Professional training, one of entrepreneurs' main concerns, has been ANIMEE's, too, since early. Thus, in 1985, in cooperation with IEFP - Institute of Employment and Professional Training,  has founded CINEL - Center for Professional Training in the Electronic Industry, Energy, Telecommunications and Information Technologies, which regularly trains, in Lisbon and Porto, electronics technicians highly qualified, with a remarkable level of employability.

Quality, innovation and research, priorities of any technological sector, led to another partnership with IEP - Instituto Eletrotécnico Português, with facilities in Porto / Matosinhos since 1981 and its own laboratories; its services provide support in areas such as CE marking, standardization, metrology, inspection, energy efficiency, safety and training, among others.
